Fun but, be warned, the clues are geared toward a British audience.
…starts with L, for vehicle, well, nevermind. Just wanted to give this app a thumbs up. Keeps you thinking!
good format for the iPhone! Not easy to design a good interface for crosswords on the little screen, kudos.
Some of the clues are a bit obvious. But great to play when you just want to take your mind off of things. Will definitely upgrade to the full version!!
Some bad moments
Not a good crossword app, often times you will have two down clues side by side with no across clue. Lots of control problems such as suddenly zooming out to the full puzzle while entering answers
The free trial certainly does not entice me to purchase the full app. The vocabulary and clues are banal. The clues tend to be obvious and involve no lateral thinking, and when this is not the case, they are sometimes so far off the mark as to imply very incorrect definitions. The interface is irritating, with instances of unwanted zooming and a keyboard that appears and hides at an irritating pace. This is a make-a-buck-fast app that was lazily slapped together.
A) Its not a crossword - half the time there are no across words. Thats just freakin lazy.
B) The keyboard comes and goes as it pleases, as others have said.
C) Theres no option to lock the screen in position. If you play lying down, that means the screen reorienting itself every 2.5 seconds with any slight change in angle. Maddening!
Very nice interface, got me hooked… I’m about to buy the full version.
Quite a high quality product, not just for a free app. Very good looking.
Lots of popups that interrupt your typing. Often time will come up as I type and I will accidentally hit it and get taken to iTunes Store which is annoying
